About the Role

MCBS is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data and Compliance Officer to join our Institutional Research and Quality Assurance (IRQA) department. This vital role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance of institutional data. You will play a key role in data governance, risk management, and regulatory reporting, directly contributing to maintaining the integrity and quality of our institution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Data Governance & Policy Development:
    Develop and implement data governance policies aligned with institutional, national, and international standards.
  • Compliance Monitoring & Reporting:
    Monitor institutional compliance with data regulations and accreditation standards, preparing accurate and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data Quality Assurance:
    Conduct audits and validation checks to ensure the integrity, consistency, and reliability of institutional data.
  • Risk Management & Data Security:
    Identify risks related to data handling and ensure compliance with data privacy laws in collaboration with the IT department.
  • Documentation & Record Management:
    Maintain detailed documentation of governance policies and compliance procedures, ensuring accessibility for audits and accreditation reviews.
  • Internal Audits & Assessments:
    Lead internal audits to evaluate compliance performance and recommend improvements.
  • Training & Capacity Building:
    Design and deliver training sessions for staff and faculty to enhance awareness of data governance and compliance standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Serve as the primary liaison for data compliance matters, providing expert guidance and fostering a culture of accountability.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (required)
    • Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Security, or Compliance Management (preferred)
  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years in data governance, compliance, or quality assurance (preferably in higher education or research institutions)
    • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulatory standards (such as GDPR, FERPA, or equivalent local standards) and familiarity with accreditation processes
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI)
    • Experience with compliance or data management software and auditing tools
    • Knowledge of IT security protocols and best practices
