The Senior Student Counsellor is a senior-level student support professional responsible for promoting student wellbeing, resilience, retention, and success through comprehensive counseling, case management, and preventive interventions. The role delivers evidence-based academic, emotional, psychological, and psychosocial support aligned with international best practices, ethical standards, and institutional policies.
· Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, School/Educational Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
· Minimum 5–7 years of progressive professional counseling experience, preferably within higher education or a comparable student-centered environment.
· Demonstrated experience in:
· Student counseling and mental health support
· Case management and referral systems
· Crisis intervention and risk assessment
· Working with culturally diverse and international student populations
· Designing and delivering workshops or psychoeducational programs
· Professional counseling license or certification from a recognized body (e.g., LPC, Licensed Psychologist, Certified Counselor, or equivalent).
· Certification or formal training in:
· Mental Health First Aid
· Crisis Intervention / Suicide Prevention
· Trauma-informed practice (preferred)
